Warm water from Easter to November — heated private pools for shoulder-season and winter-sun holidays
The Lycian coast is glorious in April, May and October — 22 to 26 degrees, empty beaches, half-price weeks — but an unheated pool sits at 18 degrees and nobody swims. A heated pool solves it. The villas on this page keep the water at 26–30 degrees on request, which turns the shoulder season into the best-value time to be here and makes a February or March escape from northern Europe genuinely swimmable.
Almost all of these pools use an air-source heat pump; a few larger estates run solar-assisted systems. Heating is switched on for your dates and, outside the summer months, is normally charged as a supplement per week or metered on the electricity — the listing states which, and the amount, before you book. In July and August most guests switch it off; the sun does the job.
Families travelling in the Easter and October half-term breaks, retired couples chasing the quiet months, and anyone booking a winter-sun week when the sea is too cold. Many of these villas also have a jacuzzi and appear in the family-friendly collection; use the links below to combine them.
